A REPORT ABOUT THE NATIONAL ICT INNOVATION HUB TOT THAT HAPPENED ON 4TH TO 13TH SEPTEMBER 2024 AT KABALE UNIVERSITY

INTER-SCHOOL DEBATES(ATUKUNDA MARTHA,SOLBERG COLLEGE-BEST DEBATOR)

Objectives
  • Enhance the entrepreneurial and innovative capabilities of participants.
  • Provide practical skills in idea generation, business management and innovation.
  • Create a network of empowered innovators and entrepreneurs and also innovation trainers across Uganda.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration among participants in different regions.

Introduction
The ICT innovation was organised by Professor Busingye Phelix and this workshop brought together around 22 participants from various organisations. The workshop aimed to equip a few selected innovators from Kigezi region with essential skills that will empower them to teach others to scale their innovators and contribute to the country’s economic growth.

Agenda:
  • Day 1: On the first day, our speaker who was called Sandra Abwin had to first explain to us what innovation and entrepreneurship meant and how to get started with a business.
  • Day 2: She taught us how market research and analysis works in the entrepreneurship and innovation field.
  • Day 3: She taught us about business model.
  • Day 4 and 5: She taught us about differences between an entrepreneur and a grantprenuer and also pitch desk presentation.

Conclusion
The National ICT innovation workshop was a successful event that achieved its objectives. Participants gained valuable knowledge and skills, also the organisers received positive feedback.
INTER-SCHOOL DEBATES(ATUKUNDA MARTHA,SOLBERG COLLEGE-BEST DEBATOR) As the participants, we also promised the organisers that we would implement the entrepreneurship and innovative skills we had gained to other innovators.
